The biggest exporter of wine in the world, Italy produces a myriad of wines from dry, white Pinot Grigio to deep red Barollo from Piemonte. The results are usually excellent, with some of the Super Tuscans being the most sought-after wines in the world. The country's wines are made primarily from two types of grapes, Nebbiolo and Sangiovese. The Nebbiolo grapes used in the north western part of the country, Sangiovese create one of the better-known Italian wines, Chianti, and are native to the central Tuscany and Umbria regions.
