Deep red with aromas of raspberry and Kirsch which carry to the palate. Delicate with a refined, elegant finish, it is full bodied with a vibrancy of fruit matched with good structure.
Lalande-de-Pommerol wines have a unique very dark ruby-garnet colour, due to their Merlot base. Their very distinct and expressive nose, with notes of small red berries (red current, strawberry, cherry, raspberry), develops notes of plums, leather, game and even coco when aged in oak barrels.
Drink now and for up to 10 years. 50% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Chateau la Croix Bellevue - Bordeaux - Lalande de Pomerol
Due to its proximity to its prestigious neighbouring AOC Lalande-de-Pomerol gained well-deserved recognition. Its terraces make it a terroir worthy of its ambitions. The AOC Lalande-de-Pomerol is composed of successive terraces covering the two communes of Lalande, quite flat, and Neac, quite hilly. One hundred and ninety-two producers create wines that proudly display the word Pomeral on this AOC's label. The soil in this Appellation is an ideal mix of clay, stones and even sand in the western part, close to the river.
Chateau la Croix Bellevue was purchased by Jean Louis Trocard in 2000,with 2001 being his first vintage- consisting of 50% Merlot, 25%Cabernet Franc and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon from only 4 hectares of vineyards on south facing gravel slopes. The wine is aged for a year in oak barriques, 25% new oak each year - the Lalande-de-Pommerol wines have a unique very dark ruby-garnet colour, due to their Merlot base. Their very distinct and expressive nose, with notes of small red berries (red current, strawberry, cherry, raspberry), develops notes of plums, leather, game and even coco when aged in oak barrels.
To the west of France, Bordeaux, set around the Garonne and the Dordogne, has the microclimate created by cool sea breezes and warm land which makes it lush and fertile. Wines include Pomerol, St Emilion, Margaux, Pauillac, St Julien and St Estephe, Graves and Sauternes, but vintages can be unpredictable and expensive wines snapped up by investors. Recent changes however mean Bordeaux winemakers are reverting to traditional methods and the result is better value wines for everyone. We have selected wines from several sub-regions on the 'Right Bank' that demonstrate the wonderful variety available.
